Hola, & buenos dias de Costa Rica!

I have been having such a great time down here in this beautiful country. We sure have been busy. It seems like non-stop action, and during the down time we do have, I just want to rest.

Last week, Jeremy and I were the missionaries - so to speak - because Mr. and Mrs. Shinabery went on a second honeymoon for their wedding anniversary. Basically, Jeremy and I took care of ourselves and did the work of the missionaries. It truly was an awesome opportunity to have that responsibility.

During that time, we did visitation and began preparing for VBS (which began this week). And I accidentally set off the Shinabery's alarm at about 1 o'clock in the morning. I thank God that the SWAT team I expected never showed up!

This week, we began VBS. in the park. I am in charge of the games and crafts. Every day we have seen growth, and the children are doing so well saying their verses. Yesterday we made a deal with the kids that if ten of them said their verses, then they could smash a pie in my face. Well, 11 memorized their verses so I got splattered.

Today, about 40 children came. That is nearly doubled from yesterday. Please pray that many children will receive the Lord as their Savior.

One more thing: please remember me in your prayers this Friday, because I will be jumping off a bridge. With a bungy cord of course! Its just my way of saying good bye to Costa Rica before I leave for home on Wednesday.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers.

Go Forth Baptist Missions Internship Program

25 June 08  - WEDNESDAY

Hello from beautiful Costa Rica!

The Lord has been good to us down here. We have seen so many people receive the Lord as their Savior. What is even more exciting is that we are getting those people into house Bible studies so that they can grow in their faith!

The people of Costa Rica are so receptive to the Gospel. Just yesterday Jeremy and I went soul winning and saw a woman saved. We were also invited back to the houses of some people who were not quite ready to make a profession of faith. But that is okay because that gives the Holy Spirit time to work. We are praying that when we go back to visit them, they will be added to the Kingdom of our Lord.

Jeremy and I have also started having a weekly Bible club for children and teenagers on Saturdays. The children meet at 10 a.m. and the teenagers at 5 p.m. Please pray that the Lord will bless this ministry and that many children will come to hear the Gospel. It is important that we get these clubs going strong because these are the foundations for Missionary Shinabery's youth group and children's church.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers. The Lord has definitely been answering them!

In Christ,

Des
